Awareness Campain: ADHD

The topic of this project were awareness campaignes. The brief said to create a logo and brand touchpoints for a public awareness campaign of our choice.

I chose to do a campaign about ADHD that focuses on misguided stereotypes and the hidden symptoms and disabilities. Typical for someone living with ADHD is to mask their disabilities, trying to keep up with the rest of the world. I wanted to do a campaign that creates a space where it isn't that shameful to have ADHD, cause that's one of the biggest effects of having ADHD, living with a lot of shame for not working like everyone else.

I also wanted to highlight the complexity of the disorder. That there are a lot of different types of ADHD, the symptoms can vary from person to person. ADHD isn't just explosive and restless kids that can't pay attention.

I wanted this campaign to reach both those with ADHD and those that have stereotypes about ADHD and people with the disorder. That is a large target group to reach, so I wanted to narrow the target to a more specific group. I wanted to specifically design this campaign for older teenagers and young adults, from around the ages of 16 to 30. This group were my main focus when designing this campaign, but I also didn’t want the group to be too obvious, so that the campaign also had the possibility to reach beyond the specific target group.
