Photography: Advertisement
In this assignment I were supposed to plan, shoot and create and advert for a fictional client. The most important part of this project was the photography. The other details in the ad could not outshine the photo, the phot had to be the main hero of the ad.
I had to plan this shoot around what was available to me. Since i’ve been on summer holiday, the only models that where available to me where my man and child. Therefor I chose that the concept of this ad where going to be an ad for kids fashion. I chose to use Zara as my client. The target group for this ad are mainly parent of small kids. The ad should give these parents good vibes, as if they buy these clothes their kids will be just as happy as the kid in the photo.
To fit the brand and to communicate in its best way I wanted the photo and ad to be in a natural and organic style. I chose to use nature as the background. The scenery of the shoot was on a beach with white sand. The white sand would be and excellent background as it would create contrast with the model and make the model and the clothes more visible. My little boy who where the model, where free to run around and play while I as the photographer where taking lots of photos from different angles trying to catch the perfect photo. I only depended on natural lighting, and tried to work with the sun to make the most flattering light. I didn’t want the frame of the photo to be too close as I wanted it to show the whole body of the model. The editing I did on the photo is quite simple, with small adjustments on light, colors and clearness. As I wanted the photo to be the main piece of the ad I added very little text to the ad, just the necessary.
